Manual Dongle Driver Installation |
Top |
For most users, my dongle driver wizard works well.
For some "problem" computers, it's best to use the driver tool from the company that manufactures the dongles.
Note - you will still need to run ForScore using a dongle shortcut as explained in the documentation. (If you're using the procedure shown here, you may already have tried my wizard which will have created a suitable shortcut for you.)
As of version 2.20, ForScore includes the manual installation program. It will be inside the folder called ManualDongle inside the folder where you've installed ForScore.
Download the installation program from here and save it on your computer. You can also download these instructions as a PDF file.
You will run this program twice.
FIRST: Uninstall any existing drivers.
Run DongleManualInstall.exe. Click through the warning screen.
The driver utility will open.
Tick the Uninstall checkbox. Then click the Begin Uninstall button.
Click Yes.
Click Close.
Reboot your computer? Not everybody has found this necessary. But to be safe, it's probably a good idea to do so before going to the next step.
SECOND: Install drivers.
Run DongleManualInstall.exe. Click through the warning screen.
Mark the KEYLOK 2(USB w/Driver) checkbox.
Click OK on the warning screen.
Then click Begin Install.
Click Next on the wizard.
Click Install on the driver security screen.
TAKE YOUR HAND OFF THE MOUSE! Wait a bit.
Then click Finish.
