It's 2007. The last rule book from IDPA came out two years ago.
I think it improved a number of things about shooting IDPA. However, in the years since it emerged there's been a certain amount of "discussion" (to put it mildly ) of what some of the rules imply and how they're to be interpreted.
Unfortunately, we don't all seem to agree on what constitutes "common sense".
Unlike USPSA/IPSC, which are organizations run by elected officials, IDPA is a private concern. As IDPA members, we vote with our wallets (or by whining a lot on various online forums ).
This forum is an attempt to solicit IN A RATIONAL, CIVILIZED MANNER, suggestions as to how future IDPA rulebooks might be improved, both in terms of clarity and as far as the practicality of rules.
The forum is entirely my doing. My name is Jane Fleming, and I have been shooting IDPA for 5 years. I've written some bitchin' IDPA scoring software but don't have any inside track or special connection with the management of IDPA.
I hope it may prove of some value. _________________ Jane A16849 |
